Default Finalizing my Order

I know there has been a few of these posts lately, so I apologize for another one.

Anything I'm missing?

Here is what I have so far:

997 C2S Coupe
U2 - GT Silver Metallic (still may go with Arctic)
AT - Black Full Leather
M6A - Blacks Mats - Porsche Lettering
405 - 19" Carerra Classic Wheels
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
482 - TPMS
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
XCZ - Sport Shifter
P15 - Power Seat Package
342 - Heated Front Seats
431 - 3-Spoke Mult-Function Steering Wheel Leather
680 - Bose High End Sound Package

Here are the ones I'm on the fence with:
DD - Gear Lever/Handbrake Alu/Leather
I love this option on my '00 C2, but at $1400 seems a bit over the top. Can this be purchased after-market?

692 - Remote CD Changer
Am I better off getting this after-market?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Sounds nice. Agree $1,400 for handbrake / shifter is over the top, and it might be cheaper after market if you want to add it later. Remote CD can be added easily later, don't know the option price but assume you could add it for the same or possibly less later - but I would ditch the CD changer and get PSE. Have you considered Adaptive Sport Seats - that option includes power seat package, so its only going to cost you about $1,200 more to add them.

looks good! I saw artic silver and GT silver at the LA car show. Indoors, I could not tell the difference.

I thought it was a ripoff to pay $3000 to get "special" paint. I opted for the artic silver. I would put $2400 into PSE and kepp the $600 in change.

I agree with the PSE versus GT Silver comment that rickrsm made above.

I have the "supple leather" on my '04 996 and I really like it! It gives the interior leather a richer look, costs only $395, and you don't have the perforated leather on the seats. I highly recommend it! You can check out the look on the "Porsche Configurator" which gives a good representation of the differences between the two leather options.

You might also want to consider the "rear center console in leather" option, which is about $1,260. I have seen full leather interiors in 997's, both with and without the center console in leather, and the leather option really completes the leather package, IMO. Just some food for thought!

I would definitely get the adaptive sports seats, they work extremely well for me @ 210 lbs and my wife at signicantly less.

I would dump the sport chrono and the CD changer, and the heated seats.

I have never understood the desire for heated seats. If I was sitting outside in a blizzard watching a football game in the nose bleed section, yeah, a heated seat would be nice. But inside a warm temperature controlled environment, I don't think so. To me, sitting on a heated seat would feel like sitting on a seat that someone else had just sat in - and the thought alone of how they got it so warm in the first place gives me the heebie-jeebies. I like my seating surfaces cool and fresh, just as I like my pillows.

Oh, if you're getting the Multi-Function Steering Wheel (like me here), you might want to add the GSM phone module. Best damn mobile phone you'll ever have!

Nix the GT Silver and add PSE. Adaptives would be a nice extra, but try them on an extended test drive before you put them on the order sheet.

If you live anywhere with a season called winter, as opposed to "cashmeer", stick with the heated seats - well worth it.

I'd invite you to come up here to Ontario. I think you would reconsider. Heated seats are nice to take the chill out of your back and *** when you sit on cold seats BEFORE the interior of the car warms up. Mornings and evenings can get pretty cool up here in the great white north during Spring and Fall.

After 100k what's $600?

dwishner, my car has been specced very similarily:

Here's what I got:
997 C2S Coupe
Atlas Grey Metallic
AT - Black Full Leather
M6A - Blacks Mats - Porsche Lettering
405 - 19" Carerra Classic Wheels
640 - Sport Chrono Package Plus
XCZ - Sport Shifter
P15 - Power Seat Package
342 - Heated Front Seats
Carbon Pkg - Dash trim (normally silver aluminum look), shifter, handbrake
Black Gauges

I would suggest you consider black guages in lieu of the silver ones. They are much easier on the eyes and blend into the black interior that much better.

PSE and TPMS weren't available when I got my car. I would have likely got both had I had the option.

Good luck and enjoy the car. You're going to LOVE it.

Chris.

Yeah I guess up there in the frozen tundra in the dead of winter it would be nice to have. But here in sunny Southern California, the option that would interest me is chilled seats! Now that's something I would definitely consider.

Some cars have cooled seats. I rented a Lincoln LS in Vegas last June where it was 110 in the parking garage, in the shade - at 9am and it was a nice feature.

In So. Cal. heated seats wouldn't be a priority for me either. Up here leather is damn cold on your ***.
