With the base price of my 997S being 80K and that it looks cleaner than the TT and that its performance is so amazing, I found the TT very hard to justify...
This is true too
Frankly, just be happy with what you're in. I do however wonder what a 997tt with the Aero cup package 9minus wing) would be like....
If I may ask, tim, where in Vancouver are you, BTW?

I live near UBC. Come to the local Porsche meetings and you can probably spot my 997S easily.

heh, I drive something not worthy of being within 100 feet of your porsche, would probably be stared down, and wouldn't be invited to the PCA meets anyways.
I live on the north shore by the way
does cobalt blue look as good in person as it does on the website configurator? Looks like a gorgeous colour but I have yet to see it in person
I see a lot of 997S's coming in close to 115K fully optioned (especially if you're looking at the pricey X51). I think that some people (myself include) just might be tempted to skimp on some of the luxury items just to get the turbo which would make the price difference more like 15 K for the base model. Hard to resist for that considerable extra performance.
base price to base price, there is an $48k difference in cars...granted, the turbo will have more standard features, but that would only cut the price difference to 40k, which is a lot more than 15k....and for 40-50k, you could buy a convertible to go with your 997s coupe, such as a used 911 cab, a vette cab,m3 conv., lotus elise, etc....or buy the 997 turbo, with its subdued exhaust note, heavier 4wd system, and extra speed that can be used on the road anyway......
I did a blow up as best as possible of the engine...it has the characterisitc 'I can't make out a damn thing' look of a modern 911 engine bay...except of course for the Mobil1 advertisement.

Or you could buy an Evo, Mini, S2000, Mustang, 350Z and an F250 for the same amount. But you still wouldn't have a Porsche Turbo.

If you get the X51 then you're looking at a 15K difference in price. 115 vs 130.
Personally I would rather have a stripped TT then a fully optioned 997S with X51 if I had to make a choice. (Of course, I would rather not have to make that choice and just buy a fully optioned TT!!)
