Wow! Can't wait. The 3.6 is because they use the old turbo engine, which has the dry sump.

Johnny congrats on the Z06, make sure to post some pics of that fine machine.

I wonder why they went cheap and didn't spend the R&D on turboing the 3.8 and adding dry sump. It could easily have put the turbo closer to the 500 hp mark. Do you suppose that's what they'll do for the GT2?

If the final pricing does, indeed, come in around 130K it's going to make the 997S very hard to justufy IMO.

GT3 = Carrera on steriods.
GT2 = Turbo on steriods.

Thanks.
We only got about 2 inches yesterday and by the time I got to drive in it there was just lots of slush! If I say any more I'm sure I'll jinx us for a couple of feet.

I was told last week by PCNA that Porsche had no current plans for a GT2...
Time to grill my source and get the correct info!!
He said the new model would be very fast and would not dissapoint!

the body kit - looks HORRIBLE
if I bought one the first thying I'd do is swap out the bodykit for a regular 997 bodykit, it's just poorly integrated and executed.

The $130 base price can't be pleasant news to current GT2 owners.

Have to agree, that front bumper is HORRIBLE! Warts on the sides of the bumper and those LED stalks in the middle of the intake is just not what they should have done. The NA997 is a beautiful car but the 997Turbo just doesn't look quite right. Personally, I like the cleaner look of the 996 Turbo. And the 996 Turbos can be had all day for 70s. Another 60K is not worth it.

agreed
although you could try and somehow clear out that crap and then all it is is simply a matter of having a 996TT look front bumper and getting some small amber turn signals, like hotrodders like to do on their cars

The rear is fugly too. ... I have to agree, the 996 turbo looks much, much better than this sad attempt at styling. ... It won't look as bad on a black car where most of the ugly features will be subdued.
