Today I purchased a 2005 997 C2S. This is my second Porsche. My very first Porsche I had 21 year ago was a 1985 944. I miss the Porsches so much. Now I finally had the dough to get one and I did it.
Here she is.
2005 997 C2S with 6,000 miles
-Arctic Silver with black interior
-Full Leather
-Power Seats
-Heated Seats
-Rear Wiper
-Bose Surround
-6 Disc Changer
-Navigation
-Color wheel crest caps
-Black Porsche mats
-Sport Chono Plus
Sticker was just a hair under 93K and I paid 78K. Seller Ordered it new from a local Porsche dealer and took deliver of it last May. It was a April build.
What do you think? Was it a good deal?????
Congratulations MH! ... Sounds like a bargain to me!
Were you able to get any information on the previous owner that might clue you in on how those 6000 miles were driven?
After 21 years, it's time to enjoy!
Post pics soon!
Yes I spoke to the seller who sold it to me. He is a chef in his mid 50's and ownes a restaurant. He drives a Lexas and drove the Porsche on nice days only . The Lexas is his daily driver. The Porsche has never been in rain or snow, and was garaged like most Porsches. He just drove it, and enjoyed it like most folks should do. I plan on driving it and enjoying it, and I own 5 other cars besides this one.
I live in central Jersey and the car is in Virginia. I will be picking up next week. I will post some pics when I get it. I cannot wait since my last Porsche was 21 years ago.
Cheers,

Sounds like he took a bit hit in depreciation, which you were able to take advantage of. I can see the excitement in your words.
So is the purchase conditional upon your approval, since you're apparently buying it sight unseen? If so, don't let your excitement get in the way of doing a thorough inspection. Good luck!

Yes it is, I did send him a nice deposit to hold the car. He sent me several pics and I had a friend of mine who live in VA go down a check it out. It's looks to be a real nice car. What do you think? ( see pic below ).

Sounds like a great deal. Enjoy the car, but only complete purchase after doing a thorough test drive. Ask if any service was done and where. Other than that welcome to being a new owner of the 997 S.
OC, what the heck does "how it was driven " have to do with anything? My car had 7k on it...i broke it in(cheated a few times), autocrossed it 5 times and drove the **** out of it...It has only used a .5 quart of oil and not one problem....
If you baby these cars you are in for trouble, in my opinion...

Thanks,
The seller has all service records from his Porsche dealer. Not sure yet what was services since it only has 6,000 miles, but I'll find out.

Robert, given your bombastic, sarcastic rant of a reply, I'd say you're 100% back to normal! .. Yep, that's for sure!
