Default Adding NAV

Does anyone know how complicated or expensive it is to add NAV to a non-NAV equiped '05 997--it seems to be as easy as installing a cd-changer but I'm sure I'm missing something. Thanks in advance, Paul

Your dealer should be able to provide you with a price (parts + labor) from the Porsche Tequipment AfterSales guide for a PCM retrofit.

I am having NAV added to my 997S as soon as it arrives (it was one of the items I changed my mind on after my order was locked by Porsche). $3,000 at the dealer for parts and labor.

A salesman I spoke with said that the nav system can be added to any non-nav '06 models but not any of the '05 models. As I ordered the nav on my '06 I never really asked why you can on one and not the other. Maybe the saleman is misinformed. Check with your dealer.

The only advantage of the PCM Nav is the stock look. Otherwise, you can put in a Eclipse touch screen unit under $3k. It'll be better and easier to use.

I understnd that you can wire an aftermarket Nav to use the existing screen. Has anyone done this?
