Hey Dave, I've used the Passport 8500 X50 and it's worked great. Be careful of the "instant on" if you're the only car out long stretch. If anything other than "instant on" is being used then you have a chance. I have to agree with everyone else. The cordless models do have a limited range.

I have had an S2 for 2 years that I use on our non/wired cars. Performance has been excellent. A few months ago Autoweek staffers picked it as their favorite remote overall considering convenience and performance. Warnings are provided with plenty of anticipation and I have not gotten any tickets when using it. It saved me from tickets on several occasions when other cars did not slow down and were ticketed. It is as sensistive as the K40 system I had in my former Maser, and much more sensitive than cheapo wireless models like the Sensoro Bullet. It works well on my motorcycle too, with a wireless heads up LED warning light inside my helmet.

The S2 is not as sensitive as the V1 or the 8500, but it has performed very well for me in many situations over 2 years.

Having said all that, I am looking to install the new K40 Calibre system on my new 997S.

Steve
