Just got a rear flat tire and took it to the dealer for a new tire install. When I pick it up the weights they use for balancing are completely different from the ones that were originally on the wheel. It looks like **** so I had to spend time to get off the old adhesive. These weights kind of stickout like a sore thumb. If i complain I think they will think I am crazy.........nobody gives a damn once you drive off the lot!
Please don't be so general.
I have had nothing but the BEST of service from my dealer.
I had a rattle somewhere in the back of my 997 S a while ago . Since I had no time to drop off the car , they sent a flatbed , picked up the car , fixed it and then sent a driver to pick me up at home the next day .
All at no charge . I suggest you try someone else if you can .

Use WD-40 or goo-gone (not goof-off) for adhesive. The wheels should be painted black just behind the plane of the spokes, IMO.
My bet is the mechanic left the cleaning to the car washers and they were too stoned to see it.

I don't follow the logic of these two statements. How can the dealer "give a damn" if you haven't notified them of a problem. Also, why would you care what they think of you anyway?
IMHO call the dealer to take care of it and let them know their service was unacceptable. Until you do that you don't really have anything to complain about.
On a side note, did you fix the flat yourself, with the tire kit, to get to the dealer or did the dealer flatbed it from the place of the flat. Any helpful comments about that process?
I was 10 minutes from the dealer so I called Porsche and they had a flatbed to me within 30 minutes. They did A great job getting me to the dealer. The dealer also was very helpful.I am kinda just ragging on the mechanic who put the tire on.When I picked up the car all that black adhesive that was left over looked very sloppy. It woulbd have taken the technician 5 minute to clean it up and wipe the wheel down. That is really my complaint.Anyone ever experience a changing of tires when the dinged your wheel or scratched when removing from the tire. They have to be so careful.

Heard of a place in the TO/Westlake area that has some sort of "hands off" machinery for mounting etc. Will track this down and post the info ASAP.
Also, what about something like Fix-A-Flat for temporary flat repair until you can take care of the problem properly?
There's "no touch" tire mounting equipment pretty common at tire specialty places.
THE problem is it requires a bit of maintenance AND a guy who is trained to use it. They' f'ed up my BMW wheel by mis-using this NON-foolproof no-touch machine.
