Ya gotta question someone who says they'd turn down sport chorno for 900 bucks but take a 2 tone interior for 4 thousand . . . What's on thier mind - spirited driving, or bling?

Hey I didn't want the sports chrono but have the 2 tone and X51. Didn't see the point of the sports chrono.
As for the backhopping, it happens with all porsches. Try launching hard in the wet with a 964 and you a swinging tail to boot. Red light launches aren't for me, hate tire smoke for no good reason. I'll leave it to the WRX and EVO crowd. It really is wearing out the tires TOO FAST & that would make my wife TOO FURIOUS for paying $1k for tires every month.

All 2wd - not an issue on 4's.

The comparison test in the Car & Driver issue, (I think 11/05) comparing a 997 vs. a C6 Vette explained that in order to get the fastest 0-60 times, you would experience violent axle hopping. That particular test had the Vette doing 0-60 in 4.1, and the 997 4.3.

I tried two launches this morning - I'm not going to put my car through that again - it doesn't sound or feel like it is doing the car any good. As someone said, get the grip first then accelerate. When I did that it was great launch. And the hiook up during the shift from second to third is SO QUICK!
