Hope you got to Technik1 OK, given the transit strike and all. As I live in NJ, I couldn't even drive myself into the city (didn't have three other people to ride wtih me!)

Actually I had to cancel both because their shop was really too far a walk from my office and the Technik1 people themselves didn't know if they were going to be able to get in. Now that the strike is over, I'm rescheduling for next week.

http://www.automotion.com/productpag...name=Skid+Pads

Has anybody mounted the skid pad above on their 06 997? I am thinking of purchasing one. I am not sure if it will fit since I notice there is a rubber thingy sticking out from below the front bumper.

It's funny - no matter how careful - slow - angle I approach some driveways there is always one to lightly scrape the bottom...

I have it sitting in a spare bedroom right now. Plan to install it when I get the car back from Europe.

Clear bra is the way to go. I have it on my front, side mirrors, door sills, and lower rear bumper( behind each rear wheel). It works

I have the clear bra, which has protected the nose from several debris hits. The front of the car frequently grounds, but has not damaged the air dam. The impacts are to the plastic deflector in front of the wheels. No visible damage after 9000 miles.

I have 12k on my 997 and my chin has received its share of scrapes. It's like running your fingernails down a chalkboard when it happens. My body armor has finally surrendered, exposing the chin of my car to the raw street. I may have to get the lower section redone since it's naked paint now. I've finally learned to hang or lead with one wheel at a time, approaching highpoints at a 45 degree angle.
