Default Checkpoint 8?

Does anybody know what checkpoint 8 is in the production process? My car has passed checkpoint 8 but my dealer couldn't tell me what that meant. The last code showed it in production in the paint shop.

Thanks,
Alan

I was told that CP 8 means it's really, really finished and is waiting for a boat. That sound you hear is me waiting and waiting and waiting, as my car completed CP8 on 11/28. Now where's that boat?

Checkpoint 8 used to be assigned VIN and ready for final test run. Usually 3-5 days from boat. Congrats!

Maybe we will be on the same boat. My car was supposedly completed on December 5, and has been assigned a VIN, but awaiting a boat......

Yeah, can't believe they don't have individual boats just for my car and the same for you

It's not that I'm paranoid, but everyone's out to get me, so of course I'm having nightmares of horrible Atlantic storms during the crossing. You'd think they'd just realize who these cars ar for and put them on a plane and then have Santa helo them to us

Deven:

What part of the worls are you in? My car was completed and assigned V.I.N. same day as yours but I still haven't heard of an on Vessel date yet. If you hear you are on Vessel will you please post and I will do the same.

TY.

Scottsdale, Arizona, but the car will be sent to Jackson, MS, so I assume that the boat that goes to Gerogia will likely be it (I assume that different boats go to different ports?)

Just got the word from the dealer that my car went on the boat on 12/9. Maybe they're all on the same boat? Thinking logically about this could be fatal! (I'm in the Ventura area)

UZJ100:

Hope so. When did you get your V.I.N. I checked with my salesperson Friday and mine was not showing on vessel but that system is often behind.

Hmmmm, I've asked twice for a VIN and not gotten it yet. Onlly thing I've gotten is the checkpoint 8 (11/28) and now the on boat date of 12/9. Getting info, well hard reliable info anyway, from these guys is like waiting in a long line at the post office. I think they make up stuff as they go along. For all I know, it may not even be built yet

Yes. I would have the saleperson status your car, print it out and fax it to you. If you are on vessel you should have the VIN.

I spoke to my dealer and he said the car was on Vessel on December 15, 2005. He then went on to tell me that there was no further information (name of boat etc), and the next information he will get will be when the car arrives at the dealership. He stated that it takes 30-40 days from the onvessel date to get to the dealer? The port is Jacksonville, Fl. Is the timing correct? (dealer is in Jackson, Mississippi) as I want to fly out there and drive back, but some lead time would be nice to arrange a flight out there. Also, is there any way to find the name of the boat if the Onvessel date is available?

Doesn't sound right to me. He can tell you the name of the Vessel and the schedule and you can track it yourself as well once you have the name of the Vessel.

If the dealer is in Jackson, Mississippi....The arrival port will be BRUNSWICK, GA.
There are no open arrivals so the car should have arrived.
eDCS would reflect the port status IMPPRT Vehicle at U.S. Port or PDI status PDIFIN Vehicle Finished PDI
