If you have been driving on light throttle openings the DME "learns" your behavior and assumes you are cruising and will try and conserve fuel for you. The hesitation and surge are the DME resolving fuel feed and cam profiles.
Drive around and change gear at 4K + and generally use wider throttle positions and the hesitation goes away as the DME has learned that performance is more important to you than economy and adjusts fuel feed and cam profiles accordingly.

Good catch. We had the same discussion half a year ago. I clearly have that surge / dip too. Typically around 2800 - 3000 rpm. It is not bad or so, but noticable, in particular when cruising and accelerating around those rpm's.
Look in the history, as we had some great feedback regarding the variocam.

Thanks guys. I thought this variocam byproduct had already been fixed by porsche. They had this variocam mechanism for how many years? should be more than 10 years, right? A little bit disappointed though.
