Cold weather testing is very common on pre-release....probably will see warm weather testing shots this spring.

These cars get tested in all weather conditions from desert to arctic.
Anyway it's an AWD car. Don't you want Porsche to have tested it on snow?
I actually like it. Typically the styling differences between turbo and non-turbo versions from a given model line are subtle consisting of some badging and minor cosmetic changes. Whether its 30 K (or so) price premium is going justify its performance over a C2S with X51 is an open question.

The article with the second pictures said it had 460 hp and 460 trq, does anyone believe this is accurate, It will be very dissapointing unless VTG developes the power in a way that would enable this car to match the c6 z06 not to mention the gallardo, f430, etc.

The body style could grow on me, but at twice the price of the C6Z06? I can't wait to hear about the performance of this car from Rennlist members. I've heard rumors that for those that have in orders, delivery may take place in June 06 at the earliest.
If I feel the need for a turbo in the next year or two, I would get a 996tt and seek increased HP through some mods. By the time you get an option or two, the 997tt will probably be a $140,000 car. Congrats to those who pull the trigger. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I think it's an underwhelming response to enhanced competition. I love my 02X50, and am glad that the new car evokes not a single iota of lust for an upgrade.
It's time for a big leap forward. will we see DSG, 7 speeds, expanded rev range, longer first gear or advanced engineering that lightens weight? The current 450 hp X50 is more than most can handle, but other improvements would add to owner satisfaction. AS
