Default Are Build Dates Running Slow

I have a December build 4CS and I still haven't got my production date and number. Are builds running slow now? I have the X-51 option, but I was told through the dealer that PCNA told him it would'nt delay production. Anyone else, in December wondering this?

My car was Nov. Build and I didn't get completed until December 6. My car also has the X51 so mine was almost a month behind it had an estimated completion date of Nov. 8.

Did you get an estimated completion date with the PLPROD status or earlier?

My December build on a 997s was just pushed to Jan with an anticipated delivery in the month of March (no date given). My dealer told me that once I am in the cue I cannot change anything (even before any build occurs) without jeopardizing my place and possibly moving to the back again.

Jez, this is all bad news. I still haven't gottn my PLPROD status, guess that means I'll be looking at a March delivery or later.

I can't say what adding X-51 or having a 4S will do to the situation, but I have been lucky my build dates. I put my deposit down on 10/20/05 for a '06 C2S and the dealer still had a November build available. I got notified of a VIN number 11/26/05 and just found out it was put on a boat 12/9/05 and I should have it early to mid January.

All I can say is it had better get here soon, 'cause my wife's about to shoot me.

Just stopped at the dealer(Long Island, NY). Carreras ordered now are projected for delivery in May or June. He had 3 cabrios available, no coupes. The one Cayman on the floor was sold, with new orders expected to be available in May.

I know about the wife thing. I'm in the same boat. I gave her a Christmas list and all but 2 items were from autogeek.com. She's had quite enough of the P-Car OCD thing I'm afraid.

Yes.. It appears all of us with X51's on order have been bumped by a month or so. I had a Nov. build which now I am told has a completion date of 12/26. I should ask if the status code has changed to PLPROD. There have been however non Club Coupe X51's delivered. The Nov. Dec. builds seem to be now getting bumped for whatever reason we will probably never know. The only saving grace is that there is 6 inches of snow on the ground with a winter mix coming Thursday in my area. Heck, by April we will all be posting our superlatives..Just got to know up front ordering a Porsche is not like ordering a Camry

I reserved an allocation for February production with a delivery in late April or early May. I hope I don't get bumped!

Ordered C2S, black, Aero Kit, Sport Exhaust, PCCB's, Chrono, Adaptive Sport seats, black full leather, yellow seatbelts, crests on headrests, Bose, Nav,and ext Nav, Sport Shifter and a few other items. No X51 kit.

The wait will blow! The dealer and others are trying to get pics of the car as it's being built (w/o secret mfg items in forground/background) and pics when it gets to port.

Is it true Porsche limits the drivability when it's shipped? I hear that they "chip" it to go only up-to 20mph and limit RPM. Only when it arrives at dealers the chip is removed and the correct one shipped with the car is inserted.

First time P-Car purchase. Previous car: Lexus SC430.

Thanks

Regards,
Deanski

Deanski,

Never heard the chip thing before. Not an expert but I doubt it.

Merry X-Mas.

As I previously posted, my C2S Cab with X51 had a Status Code of PRDEST with completion date of 12/26. On 12/21 thw code was changed to PLPROD with a date of01/09/06. Anyone else with X51 Dec. build check their current status with dealer??
