You are right.

Finally! A use for those big, black Escalades! I knew thay were good for something.

On a recent group-drive in Mendocino, it was great to watch the coordinated rise and fall of the wings on other 911s as we were driving through the twisties.

I still wish the LED on the on the spoiler switch would light when the wing goes up.

Just where in the "FM" have you seen this specific information?
It's only written about very generally in my manual...no speeds mentioned.

And to those of you who actually answered my questions - thank you!
In my manual, for 2005, it's at page 56 under the heading "Automatic Mode".

Just because you guys had me feeling like an idiot (not unusual for me), I checked and double-checked my manual. The only mention of the spoiler is on Pages 54 & 55. The "Automatic Mode" section states in total - "The limits for automatic extension and retraction of the spoiler depend on various circumstances (e.g. driving speed). If automatic control fails, a warning message is displayed by the on-board computer."

I was thinking I had a different manual than most of you, and apparently I do. Mine was published in April 2004. The number in the front is WKD 997 021 05. I'm certain I should have a more "up to date" book for my 2006 car. I'll ask my dealer...nicely.

Again, sorry for the confusion, but you can see why I was frustrated by the "RTFM" answers. I did RTFM. It just wasn't there to be seen.

No problem. The frustration is certainly appreciated. When I took delivery the manual for the PCM was an older outdated one that didn't cover the GSM phone module and I was frustrated not knowing how to insert the simple SIM card in the thing. Nobody at the dealership knew. It didn't help that, when I asked about it here, all I was told was to insert it in the drawer, which I was obviously trying to do. It wasn't until through trial and error that I finally figured that it goes in upside down, with the metal contacts facing up!

The manuals are supplied at PDI, and depending on what they have available, apparently that's what you get.

My manual doesn't specify the exact speeds either but reads like Leaders above.

The part no. on my manual is WKD 997 221 05, which would seem to be a later version of yours. For what it's worth, my car was produced in April, 2005 and delivered in June.

Got my P-car on 11/12. My manual says WKD 997 021 06 and is dated 5/05.
I have the full spoiler explanation on page 63.
Wasn't that (mine) the most boring post you've ever read?
