Default Gas Milage

I am getting after 3400 miles 16.4 MPG. I do not drive crazy, I have a C2 cab. What are you all getting?

I always seem to average out around 16 (except long road trips); 13K miles on my 997S now, but I was getting the same in my 996 and my Boxster S before that (and probably my prior 911s).

17 local and 20 mixed. Having top down on highway knocks off 1-2 mpg for me. Check your tires each month for proper pressure. Use of windstop can improve aerodynamic turbulance when windows are rolled up.

My MPG computer reads 21.+ through all types of driving.

You might want to fastidiously check the air pressure in the tires... 34/40.

At 5000 miles on the car, I'm getting around 19 mpg overall - with about 1000 miles of track driving, and the rest highway driving.

My inside door panel reads 37/44 for 18inch and summer driving, why do you think 34/40? is that for 18s?

For a 997S cabrio with 4000 miles:
* The car has been used vigorously, but not crazy. Factory recommended break-in and maximum revs held to 7000. Oil consumption 3 quarts in 3000 miles and none since.
* The onboard fuel calculator appears to be fairly accurate, compared against fillups. Resetting the accumulator by means of the lower left hand stalk will allow measurement of short term fuel usage.
* Specific instantaneous fuel usage rates:
Around town w/ heavy traffic 10 - 12 mpg
General city driving 12 - 16 mpg
Highway heavy traffic 14 - 16 mpg
Open highway @75-100 22 -23 mpg

Because, once again, I have revealed myself to be a pinhead by assuming that you had 19 's. But, to my own credit, I did spell fastidiously correctly.

With 3,000 miles on my non S Carrera C2 with no mods, my trip computer indicates about 20 around town and 29 on the highway. That includes hitting the throttle when I have to.
