Default retrofitting exhaust

I've ordered a C2 S cab without the X51. I know i should have ordered it but by the time i found and read the forum, it was already in production . I see many people are fitting non-prosche exhausts does this affect your warranty? If not which make, in your opnion, is best? If it does, whats the best alternative?
Thanks for any suggestions
Great forum bye the way

The rule of thumb regarding warranties is that in order to void a warranty, the Manufacturer must be able to prove that a mod caused the problem to occur. This is not an easy task and most Manufacturers will simply honor the warranty unless something egrigious has been done to the car, like adding a supercharger. Also, although the Manufacturer and not the Dealer honors the warranty, it's a good idea to establish a good rapport with your Dealer since they will be your advocate with the Manufacturer when discussing warranty claims. The only other concern is that some Manufacturers will void your warranty if they can prove that you participated in races.

You have to pay to play. You risk modifying your car, you risk voiding your warranty. Everything is a matter of relativity, but I would be more wary of flashing the car's ecm than I would be a catback exchaust. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, this "issue' came up this week when I took my brand new 997S to my dealer for a rattle. They at first told me that I lowered the car (H&Rs) so that is why there is a rattle, then they tried to blame one of the best aftermarket shops in the Bay Area for installing a hard-wired Valentine One which caused some wires to be rustling around. I pushed back hard and will be finally picking up the car after three days of them playing with it. They claim it is fixed after six hours but part of me doesn't believe it. They wont be charging me but after this experience I may never go back. Just brining these mods up after I spent 100k just is pure BS.

I know man, dealers can be shady about these things. I can't afford to void the warranty if something goes wrong as i already stretched my finances on getting the car optioned properly. I mean what the f#@! , ok 80,000.......90,000,ok........100,000, ummm......+?????and the beat goes on.

Synergy,
I agree with you re dealer's attitudes. Some dealers are mod friendly (within reason), while others (mine) are absolutely rigid, "oh, you added nitrogen to your tires, thats what caused the tranmission to go out"
By the way, you're beautiful when you're angry.

zakki, to answer your original question, stick with the PSE, no need to wire in switch, it sounds great on all of the time.

Synergy, can you tell me which dealer did to take your car to? I want to make sure I won't take mine to them as well. Thanks.

In response to reply #7-about the melted airbox-this person must be totally ignorant of cars and engine compartments. The only way to "melt" an airbox would be to exceed the melting point of the material-very hot for a "properly" functioning engine compartment. The first reaction is to blame the aftermarket manufacturer. One needs to investigate ALL the facts-another Chicken Little reaction. I have a EVO air intake and AWE headers/low restriction cats on my 997S' and have NO freakin issues. We don't need to be mislead by ignorant(of engine operational issues) people on this website. I'm sure I've offended a bunch of people but JMHO. No, I'm not an automotive aftermarket manufacturer-make steel everyday.........
