Umm, let me rephrase that. Try cleaning the rear window on a PRE- '03 Boxster, the flimsy folding vinyl type! The only way to keep the vinyl taut was obviously with the top up!

You post '03 owners have it easy with the glass window!

Thanks AS. I took that pic the day I picked up the car.

I just realized that I might get kick out of here with that amber lens so here is an updated pic:

FYI--Griots (and other le$$ companies) sell a handy curved padded tool that gets into sloped windows well. Also recommend their glass cleaner.

I dn't know if the 997 has the seat memory buttons in the same place as the 996, but here's an interesting problem I found in the 996. If you get dirt in the memory buttons, the hood can pop all on its own. The engine cover can also pop, and the alarm system can get some really strange behaviors (like locking you in the car, bepping for no reason, and more). Ask me how I know...

Hahaha...this is so funny. I figured this one out, but it took me 4 weeks to figure it out. I thought maybe it was an electrical short, but nope. It's definitely the key. It even pops the hood from my office, a good 250 feet away from the car.

On a funny note (and serious..??), somebody has come up with a solution for this problem.

A little pricey...

Well, I guess Porsche had to make up for the fact that the 996 remote wouldn't work if it was more than 12 feet away from the car.

Now, this definitely would get some ladies' attention if I put it in my pocket.

BTW, I think Porsche should put a button on the key to open the Cab top.
