SHE'S HERE!
Well, I don't know why I haven't heard from my salesman but my car seems to be in. It was rolled off of the boat on Thursday and I’m guessing the truck came in yesterday.
The tennis pro from our club was over watching the Bucs/Jets game with me today. He wanted me to drive his new Hyundai Tiburon V6, a very neat car by the way (especially for $20,000). The handling is excellent though it's underpowered (I'm surely spoiled in the power department).
Anyway I drove the Hyundai by Bert Smith just to see if maybe my car came in yesterday. Well, what do I see on the showroom floor but a Cobalt Blue Metallic 911! Unfortunately they were closed and the car was locked in the showroom. But I was able catch a glance.
I love the color!!!!
Oh to have been able to get inside the showroom. I'm going over first thing in the morning after I drop my daughter off at school. I may talk to my service advisor about getting her in for a quick alignment check.
It's been 50 days since I placed the order. I couldn't be happier with how quicky the car was built and delivered. Now I'm just hoping she's as rock solid as my 996.

So while the Blue Zoomer is there I thought maybe a quick alignment check couldn't hurt. But you're right I probably need to drive the car before jumping to conclusions. In fact, I definately need to drive the car!

You car arrived last week at a Florida port? I'll bet that's the same boat that's docking in San Diego tomorrow (and whose last port was in Florida) with my car on it!
Congrats on getting your car so early. 50 days is really fast. I ordered in June, but was expecting to wait until December. Should be driving mine by next week.

You said the Hyundai had excellent handling? At what...20mph?? I question that statement!!! HAHA, doesn't matter though because in a day or two you wont know other cars exist! That picture is soooo awesome! Cool background for the car if the door wasn't there!
Can't wait for the pics!
EDIT: WHOA WHOA! Orange sidemarkers!!!! Have them put clears on the car while its there. It only takes a couple minutes! Clear markers on the blue will make a HUGE difference.

I love Cobalt Blue, it is wonderful..
If you can do some long high mileage continuous runs for break-in, a road trip if you can swng it.
Your engine will love you for it!
In 13,500 mi I've consumed only 1.5qt of oil with the 997 and the same was true for my 996.

Very cool. If I were home I would love to see it before you took delivery. That is pretty cool that you can just cruise by the bert smith showroom and see your car. Pretty easy to pick out.

Congratulations. You must have seemed like the kid looking in the candy store. Post pics and break it in nice; you'll have plenty of time. At least you don't have the impending winter looming ahead.

Do not get the alignment checked until you put 500 mile sor so on it...give it time to settle....drop it down with H&R's and have the alignment done close to GT3 specs.....
Car will handle much better!
