Default Just got back from PDE...

What a great way to spend a couple of days. The Porsche Driving Experience utilizes 997 models and this venue is a great way to push the cars extremely hard on the track, but with someone else's car. The instructors were very top notch. I learned quite a bit. I'd recommend the PDE to anyone who drives a 997 or any high performance car for that matter.

One month to go, can't wait!

How was the "Ross Bridge" resort and did they pick you up from the airport or did you have to take a cab from the airport to the hotel?

Thanks!

Default RossBridge is great

I rented a car from the airport, but I do know that they have a shuttle to and from the racetrack. I stayed at the Wynfrey Hotel which was crap, but there was a dinner/reception at RossBridge which is extremely nice. Have fun.

Would you recommend renting a car while there? I am staying at the "RossBridge" resort so don't know if I would need it...

That's a great pic! I was assigned number 19 for the masters Wed. and Thurs. of last week.

PDE is an absolutely GREAT thing... learn, laugh, do 110 MPH over and over, eat, sleep... repeat.

Chris, in what ways will the course help you in every day driving? I plan on going next year in 2006. The pic is great, thanks for the feedback.

Default There are many ways to help with everyday driving...

Some of the exercises involve both accident avoidance and wet skidding. For example, on the same day that I was driving back to my hotel, a truck on the side of me attempted to move into my lane. It forced my to go on the shoulder, but I didn't panic...when the truck realized the mistake that he had made, he moved back over and I was able to gradually pull back onto the highway. In addition, one must consider...owning a Porsche does not make you a good driver, but taking the PDE will make you appreciate what a Porsche can do. It's all about being in control and I think that is the goal of any driving school.
