Default Suppose your name was drawn for the right to purchase a 997 Club Coupe?

Would you buy it?

There are 49 of them, will they be valuable?

Do you think it would be a good investment?

Would you flip it right away to make a quick killing?

Is it worth hanging on to for long term appreciation?

Will they be hot on e-bay for 3 months, and then the
bottom fall out of the market?

How much do you think guys will pay for one on the
resale market.

Is the only downside possible depreciation similar to
any other 997?

And no, my name wasn't drawn... Just curious.

TIA

Ugh, yea my name was drawn and my order placed with 12K of options....

With the extra's Porsche is giving with this car, if one was serious about purchasing a 997S, you would be nuts not to buy this car if you won the chance...

Would you buy it?
If my name was picked out of the hat - YES
other than that NO

There are 49 of them, will they be valuable?
Maybe someday

Do you think it would be a good investment?
In 20 years, but what kind of return....not enough

Would you flip it right away to make a quick killing?
Right away you still have to overcome taxes paid ++ to be in the black, they won't comand that sort of premium

Is it worth hanging on to for long term appreciation?
It may depreciate less than a standard but mot bt that much

Will they be hot on e-bay for 3 months, and then the
bottom fall out of the market?
Doubtfull

How much do you think guys will pay for one on the
resale market.
Hard to tell- but there IS a More Money Than Brains Club out there

Is the only downside possible depreciation similar to
any other 997?
I'd figure depreciation to be slightly less than any other 997

What are we really talking about here that is REALLY different than what you can order?
The Color: Azurro California exterior color,
Stainless Steel Door Sills “PCA logo”
Badge on door trim “PCA x/50”

Was pretty lucky as I was notified two weeks after the original drawing via e-mail. I assume someone who was originally selected could not purchase the vehicle, and I was drawn the second time around...

A few cosmetic interior options were selected but the major options I ordered were:

1. DVD Nav
2. Bose Sound
3. CD Changer
4. TPMS
5. Parking Assist
6. Option 666 PCM Phone (which was not in the Club Coupe ordering guide for some reason)
7. Adaptive Sport Seats
8. And Heat for my ****....

I think that's about it for the exciting items...

What I am really excited about is the X51 engine option, sport shifter and Chrono Plus, all standard.

Like I said, I plan on keeping this baby for a very long, long time and hopefully will pass it down to my son.

Why do you think that the car can't be resold immediately for more money? After all my understanding is that X51 is free and that, alone, is worth more than the loss in sales tax.

Would you buy it? I was picked, and yes I did buy it. Mine is going to be #2 of 50, which probably means I was the first to get their orders in.

There are 49 of them, will they be valuable? Probably not, but I don't care--I'm looking forward to owning, driving, and telling my story of getting the "deuce".

Do you think it would be a good investment? It's a car--it's not an investment.

Would you flip it right away to make a quick killing? Heck no--even assuming I could make a profit, I can always make more money. However, life is short and FWIW, it is a unique opportunity.

Is it worth hanging on to for long term appreciation? Frankly, you could probably invest a $100K and do better in far shorter period of time.

Will they be hot on e-bay for 3 months, and then the
bottom fall out of the market? I am sure there will be some, not mine.

How much do you think guys will pay for one on the
resale market. Well, with delivery miles on one, a Club Coupe is much less than a comparably equipped car, so it should sell for more than its MSRP for awhile.

Is the only downside possible depreciation similar to
any other 997? I guess.

Bottom line: I am so excited about getting my car, and as odd as it sounds, I do feel "lucky" to get the right to spend serious money on the car, although mine as ordered only has about $6,000 in options (I'm a mimimalist type person--didn't want Bose (didn't like it), nor Nav (had it, no big attraction) but did have to have the Tip, wanted the adaptive sport seats and some additional leather options).

Guys, I don't know where this comes from--X51 isn't free. The Club Coupe MSRP is less than a comparably equipped 997 S with X51, but not $16,900 (the price of X51) less. It's about $5-6,000 less without counting any additional amount for the Azurro California paint (which I do like but would never pay the $3070 special metallic paint price or $4315 for paint to sample price--I'll leave it to the individual's estimation what the paint color "price" should be)

I have contemplated it and I am still dumbfounded that they have not contacted me - I could accept that I didn't win a right to buy, but damn I thought I was going to get the free one!

Would you buy it? Yes, provided I could get out of my 997S at a good price (which still seems likely in SoCal).

There are 49 of them, will they be valuable? They might have a small special cache but I doubt that will be worth a big premium over an ordinary 997S. It's really just a 997S with X51, a special color (which I happen to like a lot), and a couple PCA stick-ons. I just can't see that the PCA limited edition is so special to bring a big premium.
Do you think it would be a good investment? NO - I would buy it only if I wanted to buy a 997S. IMO it will depreciate pretty much the same as any 997S.
Would you flip it right away to make a quick killing? Since I'm very happy with my 997S, yes I would consider flipping it if there was really a healthy profit to be made (but I doubt it would be enough to offset costs, including taxes, etc.)

Is it worth hanging on to for long term appreciation? NO - see above.

Will they be hot on e-bay for 3 months, and then the
bottom fall out of the market? Maybe a few cases of sales at a premium but otherwise I see a normal depreciation curve.

How much do you think guys will pay for one on the
resale market. Not enough to make an "investment" worthwhile - short-term maybe $10K in some isolated cases - ??
Is the only downside possible depreciation similar to
any other 997? YES.
