Baltimore/DC/NoVa/PA Rennlist Meet and Drive at 10:00AM, Saturday, October 22nd
Mark you calendar for another vaunted Rennlist Meet and Drive! We plan to meet in Timonium, MD at 10:00AM at the Staples Shopping Center parking lot, directly across from the Maryland State Fairgrounds, and right next to the Krispy Kreme (2129 York Rd., Timonium, MD 21093 410-308-3576). We’ll check out all of the cars, meet some new friends, catch up with old ones, talk Porsches and see who bought those latest must-have, triple-milled, carbon fiber-wrapped, NASA balanced, beryllium lock washers.
Valley Motors, our local Porsche dealer, is right around the corner, so if there are any interesting machinery lurking about, we may zip on over and scare the crap out of the sales people.
We’ll then head north and cruise through some of Maryland’s finest twisty roads for a good 45 minutes to an hour. This is going to be an epic drive through upper Baltimore County that will take us near the Gunpowder State Park/Prettyboy Reservoir area. If you’ve been hankering for a drive, this is the one to do!
We’ll finish up the drive by looping back down and having a delicious brunch at City Crab and Seafood (410-339-6300) at 2360 W. Joppa Road in Timonium, MD 21093. Slight change in plans. City Crab and Seafood has changed over to Mick and Tony's. Ownership has remained the same, but the menu has changed and has expanded over the previous offering. Same phone number and address.
Sound like fun? If you’re interested in this get-together, please post here and let me know if you’re coming for the meet, the drive, the eat or some combination of the three. It’ll help me get a head count estimate for the restaurant.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone! If you have any questions, either post them here or email me at mark.lee at longandfoster.com.
(Directions to the Staples Shopping Center: Timonium is just north of I-695, the Baltimore Beltway, and off of I-83. Take exit 16A off of I-83. You will be on Timonium Road. Go through three lights. At the third light, you will make a left, which will lead you onto York Road. Go for about 1/4 mile and look for the Krispy Kreme on the right. You can either hang a right right into KK or keep on going a bit further and make a right into the Staples shopping center. A Blockbuster Video will be at the corner. If you see a Mars Supermarket, you’ve gone waaay too far. I’ll try and stage cars right near the road so it’ll be even easier for people to find. Still confused? Yahoo.com will set you free with its point-to-point map directions.)

I hate to sound like an **** retentive jack ***, but how is the parking at City Crab and Seafood 2360 W. Joppa Road in Timonium, MD 21093? Is it safe enough to avoid dents and dings? I guess I can park in between friends, eh?

I am really bummed out. I have a conflict that weekend, even though I originally posted I was "all in". The wife has since spoken and we are not available on Sat Oct 22. I also was going to bring 2 additional friends with p-cars.
I guess there is no changing the date. And I live 15 minutes away. Dang!! I'll be at the next one I guess.

The date was set a long time ago. Sorry about that. These things are worth rearranging the schedule to meet other Rennlisters, see the cool cars and zip around in some magnificent countryside. Hope you can work it out.

Well, its my grandmothers 85th birthday and the entire extended family is getting together for the entire weekend, and this was planned 6 months ago. There is an all day event planned for Saturday starting at breakfast. The chances of me working that out are slightly less than zero.
Unless of course I convince everyone to call off the entire weekend, and instead I take grandma on the ride of her life.
