OT: Vanity Plates

In the state of Tennesse I think the following is really funny
55-8-152
Very few get it....typically only attorneys, judges, and law enforcement officers
It is the Tennessee Traffic Statute Number that applies to Excessive Speeding

OCBen - I think boolala guessed it correctly: "In up to my ***" - but that was just my interpretation too, don't know what the owner intended.
My brother in law has ONDAEDG, cute one and fitting while he was in the earlier stages on launching his business.

The best plates are the ones everybody "gets" right away. Easy on the brain, light on the pretense.

I saw an identical one in San Diego when I was a surgical resident. Belonged to a lady driving a Corvette. That said I would be worried about the car getting keyed by some guy who might be going through a painful divorce. Choose your plates wisely.

Good advice indeed. ... I used to have HOT 986S on my Boxster S (as seen way above) and this one teenage kid sneered after I had parked the car, "You think that car is hot **** or something?" I ignored the comment, pretending I didn't hear it. I certainly made sure I got in and out of that store in a hurry. After that incident I was always self conscious about my plate, wondering if there were others like that kid that resented the fact that I had something I loved that he couldn't have. It seemed to me that there are those who view vanity plates as something that the "haves" use to flaunt what they have in front of the "have nots", and can therefore create unintended resentment in them and motivate them to do harm to your priced possessions.
That's why I opted for the standard state issue tags on my 997S and decided to go the understated route. There are too many crazies out there as it is. I certainly don't want to attract them.

I agree with Ben re not having plates that might elicit anger, or be a cop magnet, or stand out too much. I ended up with these on my 997S - takes a Porsche person to get it, and hopefully hard for cops to memorize when I drive by too fast!

That's pretty creative Jim. I love the subtlety aspect of it. You're right, only Porschephiles would get it. Good thing I didn't think of it - I would have given in to the vanity urge and gotten them right away!
Car looks really sharp. That's a nice photo angle too - really shows off the depth of the rear RG5s. Need to work on polishing your exhaust tips though. Just the outer rims of them at least.
