Gents -
Just wanted to confirm that it is pretty easy to change the colored wheel crests to stock. I know on my 996 C4S the wheel caps are just a piece of plast that can be replaced quickly. I assume it is the same for the 997.
Not that it matters, but anybody know how much the stock caps cost?
Thx.

If it's the same as a 996 a set of 4 plain caps will run about $60 vs $50 EACH for the colored version. The colored crest is actually a very cheap plasic crest that is glued on, it is also a favorite among thieves ( dealer said they sell about 50 per week). I got tired of replacing stolen crests, so I changed over to plain crests. Besides the plain crests are bigger and look better IMO.

hi there....all center caps on almost all mag wheels pop out from applying pressure from the inside of the wheel with your hand or the back of a screw driver exactly where the cap is inserted....you must take the wheel off the car to do this....some people pop it out by trying to stick a screw drivers edge from the outside...dont do this...you will make marks and a mess....good luck...very very simple.....
