Default Noob question

I finally took delivery of my first P today, a beautiful loaded GT Metallic. I bought the car from a dealer 200+ miles away and they delivered it by truck today (finally), hence no walk thru with dealership. My question is this: in front of the rear tires there is a plastic shield about 10" x 10" (approximately) - is this supposed to be there? I don't recall seeing it on other 997's. I'm guessing it doesn't belong there, it is a leftover from the factory shipping dept? Or is it some type of protective shield?

Thanks.

It is supposed to be there to protect your paint from stone chips.

Thanks. I guess they do such a good job applying it that I never noticed it on other cars. Does it how up well? Do you end up eventually removing it anyway?

I have never had to replace it, But I have heard of others doing it. Do you drive on gravel roads much?

If she is from KY, then you must have met her at your family reunion - correct?

Do you know why it does not take people from KY very long to get ready for work in the morning? It doesn’t take them long to brush their TOOTH!

Do you know there are only two pallbearers at a KY funeral? Because there are only two handles on a garbage can!

Man, this thread went down hill in a hurry!

Did someone say West Virginia?

What does a West Virginia divorce and a tornado have in common?

Answer: Someone is gonna loose a trailor.
