That would be amazing, to say the least: DOT just happens to have a warehouse full of amber 911 side markers. Their administrators are really, really **** about this issue.

Also, if Porsche engines do not meet federal regulations then DOT will simply exchange with a US engine of approximately the same displacement that meets current emission standards.

I doubt US DOT makes the changes, probably Porsche USA does. Why would the government do that? BTW, the US DOT regulation about the amber lens is that it has a amber reflector on it, that's why its that color for the US. When we replace it with clear, its technically illegal.

Alan - even though it was a European Delivery, the car is still destined to ultimately end up in the good old USA. So it would have the amber side markers installed, per DOT regulations.

I know. I was just responding to Eric who said that the markers all leave Germany with the clears and that they actually got switched at the port in the US.

Alan - Sorry, I mis-undestood your earlier message. Your response makes sense in that context.

Guys! I was kidding! Holy crapdawg, had no idea this was still alive.

After the debacle with the Turbo front bumper warts, we all suspected the cars were getting ambers at PDI from PCNA. But who cares? We sell clears (yes, they have amber bulbs) for all of you!

And you can swap the clear bulb in your ambers with the amber bulb of the clears, thereby getting you a full clear look, if that is what you want.

Please adhere to your local/state/federal laws where appropriate.

Eric, are the clear side markers legal anywhere in the US?
