ONVESL!!!!!
I have been waiting to say that since April 13. Time to put up OCBen's avitar now - its on my home computer. Apparently it went on the ship July 27 (yesterday) to Baltimore. Anyone know the name of the ship or how I can track it?
I am starting to feel my pulse increase.

I am simply obsessed. MJones IM'd me and told me the ship is the Jupiter Diamond. So, I did what any reasonable **** obsessive compulsive person would do: I called the Port of Baltimore. The Jupiter Diamond is due to arrive in Baltimore at the Dundalk Marine Terminal 8:00 PM on July 31st.
If PDI takes 24-48 hours, I can have my baby next week!!!!!!!!!
This assumes my car is, in fact, on that ship.

Not to be ****, but the devil IS in the details....
This is what I sent MJones:
"Hi, Just got word my baby is ONVESL to arrive in Baltimore. Apparently, the VESL left foreign port yesterday (July 27) unless the dealer was approximating - - but he did say 'yesterday'. Several people told me to PM you and get the name of the boat and how I could track the same over the net. At the least, any thoughts on how long the trip should be? I cant wait!!!!! Thanks, Adam"
This is what MJones sent back:
"If your ONVESL date is 7/26 your car should arrive at the port of Baltimore (est) 8-03 on the vessel Jupiter Diamond.
As far as traclking the arrival you need to root around the Port of Balt website..
It won't be long now... Happy waiting!"
So..... Is it a new boat every day, or was the July 26 departure the closest match to the July 27 date my dealer said it went ONVESL? Or, did it go ONVESL on July 26 and the computer got updated such that my dealer only saw that it was ONVESL on July 27 when, in fact, it really went ONVESL on the 26th?
Well, I sent an e-mail to me dealer asking for confirmation of the name of the ship. My Dealer must think I am a head case (he would be correct). But, for a $100,000+ vehicle, I will call him 10 times a day if I so choose.
I am assuming it is this ship unless I find out differently. It would be easier if I knew that only one ship left for Baltimore within the last 4 days (while other ships went other places on a given day). Then I would know there was an acceptable onboard range of error.
I would say I need to get back to work but I cant get anything done anyway.

Whew! ... You are a basket case, Adam! .. LOL .. When I read that I imagined you reciting that real fast as some kind of legal disclaimer of sorts.
Just call your dealer. He can print out a ProForma sheet that shows exactly the ONVESL date! Or he can just tell you over the phone.
Next week? ... wow, it's almost here!

You and me both. I was told that the car was supposed to be on the lot yesterday. It still hasn't made it yet.

MJones does know his stuff. The dealer called me back to tell me the est delivery date is 8-3 in the port. That is a MATCH to his info vis-a-vis the est delivery date so it is the Juniper Diamond.
OCben.... its been like a month for you now, right? Do you still get the new car smell 30 days later out of curiosity?

Are you kidding me? Of COURSE my car still has the new car smell after only a month, and it doesn't take full leather for that either. My '01 Boxster that I sold in April still had that new car smell after 4 years! Of course, it only had 7700 miles on it when I sold it, and I hardly drove it with the top down, and kept it covered in the garage most of the time. Don't ask!

Well, according to the Maryland Port Administration dockmaster's office, the Jupiter Diamond did arrive last night (sunday) in Baltimore and sails at 12:30 today away from port. Thus, assuming my baby was on that boat, by definition the baby would be off-loaded onto land and in PDI.
I am on the official 'wait for the phone to ring' mode now!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi 1080i Addict,
What was your build date? My car was supposed to have been built on 18 July and I am wondering if our cars were shipmates. My beloved porsche salesman is taking a well deserved vacation...'said he needed it after dealing with me!!!... so my information source is nowhere to be found. I've always been told that patience is a virtue, but I'm not so sure that its all that its cracked up to be...quite obviously, its proponents have never awaited a ship with a 997 onboard!!!
DAB.
