Default Spare tire question

Does anyone know if the spare tire/wheel from a 996 will bolt on to my 997? I am only concerned with the bolt pattern, and if it will clear the calipers. I want to use one of these, if needed, instead of the can of sealer. Thanks

I am fairly certain that I asked my dealer about this and the answer was NO :-(
Someone must be working on a donut for these cars,...no?

Emergency Wheel/Tire P/N 996-362-020-02 fits 997S. I think this was originally used on 996 C4S. A few other items you might want also are these:

Scissors Jack P/N 996-721-211-00
Wheel Insert (to stow Jack inside wheel) P/N 996-722-101-00
Wheel Mounting Bolt (helps align wheel with hub) P/N 999-571-074-30
Tire Boot (Bag for flat tire) P/N 996-361-521-00

A few bungee cords to hold the spare in place in the front boot would also be helpful. Available from AutoZone.

People have had successes with 996 spares. check teh archive, "gradyX" did alot of research and was successful.

I'd call the dealer and have them work on it for you, then check their results against what you find here.

I, myself, would really like to get my hands on the actual 997 spare as seen in this photo. Might be hard to get in USA.

Pleeeeze let us know what you find out.

The other thing you can do is get the jack and wrench and DIY tire plug kit. if it is just a nail, remove nail, install plug, drive away and eventually get it fixed right.

I too am always working on my spare - I am fairly certain I do not fit in the front of a 911 or in the cheap seats.
