Default 997 Carrera S at workshop

A while ago I posted about the car overheating in traffic. On the road no problem. In town . . . another story.

Intakes were clear, fluid was topped.

I took it into the dealer yesterday. Seems the radiator fan control module failed for some reason.

Should be getting the car back tomorrow or Thursday.

Seems like an odd failure.

What...? Your front bumper cover is split open? I don't think it looks bad! Oh, wait... sorry, I was looking at you avatar...

Glad they got it resolved. Sometimes yor get a bad relay switch or module. You probably won't have this issue again.

Hopefully that will be your last "new car shake out" problem and the car will be trouble free for a long time

I hate to say "I told you so" about the fans, but...

I did do automotive cooling system engineering at one time, so I have an edge in that department.

Glad they found the problem.

I figured it was the fan and it was.

Interestingly enough there was a service bulletin they also did for the front hood latch. Remember Skip . . . . .???
