You guys might find this interesting. http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=102686

My 996 has the X51 package (came standard as part of the 40 Anniversary edition package), and certainly enjoy the enhanced performance.

Oh and I almost forgot. Here's a picture of the Carrera S 3.8 engine with the X51 package. Awesome airbox!

You can't say it is a rip off until you see the performance numbers on it. Second of all, your car will never make as much power as a tuned 997 S, it's just a standard carrera. You would be hard pressed to keep up with an x51 997 S without forced induction.

If I want only an additional 1.3hp, can I pay just $600?

I wanted it on my Oct. build but $16,900 U.S. come on. I read on another board that it included PSE as well but dealer was unable to confirm. Anyone know for sure?

TIA.

996toomey: From the picture I posted before you can see the vacuum gates that open and close the PSE system. So the answer is yes!

What a joke ...Porsche is laughing all the way to the bank! 16k??????????

Just remove some weight and drop all the bells and whistles, get lightweight seats, wheels etc and your 997S will keep up with a loaded S and X51........
