Default How long to ship from Germany to California?

After car is built, how many weeks from factory doors in Germany to dealer in CA?

I know it's in the archives somewhere but it's frustrating to find and maybe not latest info. Thanks for the help.

3-3.5 weeks on the sea PLUS 1 week to dealer (transport plus prep) is what I've been told. I'm waiting for my ONVESL date..... are you?

This is the email I just got from my dealer, Michael Porsche in Fresno, for my 2006 (Not 2005) 997 :

>>>>>>>>>>>>
I just received word that your car is estimated to be built by July 4. If it
that date holds true we expect to see your vehicle by the latter part of the
second week in August. I will keep you informed as I recieve more
information. I will speak to you soon. Have a good week.

You are welcome. Yes, things are looking good! I could barely hardly wait. I keep having "visions" of myself sitting in the car shifting gears, stepping on the gas, etc.

Our cars might even be on the same shipt

Regards,
Can

I work for a logistics company and airfreight your car overnight for only USD 5,000 - USD 6,000 usually! Incidentally, we do all of Porsche's airfreight : )

How about "economy 3 day air" for us $2000?

Bremerhaven - San Diego is 7889 nautical miles = 15days plus 1 day panama canal transit = 16days (provided it's direct sailing and no deviation to other ports, owise, slightly longer)

My car was shipped on 12Jun from Bremerhaven and ETA S'pore 29jun. Whoopee

I have an update - for California waiters....
My car was built June 13, and ONVESEL June 21st. According to my dealer, it should arrive San Diego July 8-9, which seems FASTER than I expected. I've been told 3 weeks in the past, and this is 2wks, 4days. What makes this even more remarkable, is that according to the San Diego Port (http://www.sdmis.org/schedule/), the ship will actually stop in Jacksonville, Florida first!
Anyone else on this ship (Sagittarius Leader)??

My dealer said my order has been confirmed, which I think means it is due to be built very soon. Can anyone confirm this and how long from this point?

Speaking of our 2006 models - does anyone have the new base price of the 997 S? I don't even know how much my new car is going to cost??? The dealer didn't know either!! Wild!

I had ordered an ’05 model at the end of Sept 2004. It took so long to get they changed it to an ’06 model. It was supposed to be delivered in early August, but the dealer informed me today that Porsche is holding all 2006 models for a release date of Sept 15, 2005. It will have to sit at the docks, while I am going nuts.

Has anyone else heard about this?

I was given 2005 pricing on my 2006 some time ago.
