Yes, summer is coming and we have temperatures getting close to 100 F, which is a challenge for the P-car. After highway riding, I normally let the motor run for one or two minutes before switching it off. Also yesterday, I switched off the motor and left the garage. I came back in the garage after say 5 minutes and just at that moment the air fan in the motor compartment switched on in order to cool the motor. Apparantly the residual heat was enough to raise the temperature such that the air fan started.

During that ambient temperature of around 100 F, the oil temperature is sititng at 235 F A9bout 20 F higher than in colder weather), while the coolant temperature is not moving away from 175 F. Impressive, as other cars are starting to show higher coolant tempratures in this environment.

I think they've got the cooling system figured out. Last summer in my 986S it was hot as hell, sunny and near noon and we were crawling in bumper to bumper traffic. I had to run the AC full blast. Guess what? The car did fine. I was impressed.

I have a fan in my garage. Get's really hot in there ever since buying my first sports car many years ago. Fan helps with heat removal and provides good ventilation when the car comes in out of the rain.
