Default Phone question

I saw somewhere that a sim card can be installed and your phone will work through the pcm? is this correct? i see the buttons on the card but will it work as simply as that? or is there something else i have to do.

Only if it came with the $960 Option 666, GSM Phone Module for PCM. I don't think it can be retrofitted after the fact. You may want to search for threads on that topic to learn more.

If you have a PCM with the SIM card drawer you can retrofit the telephone module.

P/N is 997.044.900.71 and in addition you will need one of two Optical waveguides. Call your dealers parts dept for price and availability. If you are a PCA member most dealers will discount P&L 10%
Labor for the retrofit install is 4.6hrs.

The sound quality in both directions is very good, and the operation of the phone is quite good. Your phone book and other comands appear in the OBC display under the tach, controled by the OBC stalk or multi-function wheel.
Pop a SIM card in and talk.
