Is there anyway to test if the AudioPilot on the Bose is working....I can't actually tell much difference when it is on/off....What is it supposed to do...regulate volume, or bass..
Thanks
Thanks

It senses noise and produces noise cancellation thru spkrs. I don't know how you can test that though. It's transparent to me. If you turn off stereo, I think maybe it's off but I don't hear more noise though.

it doesnt produce noise cancellation, it just makes everything louder. the easiest way to test it is to turn it on and off at highway speed. (not recommended.)
there is really no need to test, it works.

Bose AudioPilot
The AudioPilot automatically controls the sound and volume as a function of back- ground noises in the passenger compartment such as wind, tire noise and conversation.
This functionality ensures a constant acoustic impact in all driving
conditions, which means that the driver does not have to continuously readjust the sound. The background noises are recorded by a special microphone in the steering column cover and processed.
A considerable improvement in comparison with the system in the previous
model has been achieved through the use of additional information (speed,
etc.) in the control algorithm.
As a result, the volume control is now much more robust and almost all unwanted fluctuations in volume have been eliminated.

This was discussed a while ago in another thread.
I recommend to go to the Bose internet site. They explain it all. They basically lift the music out of the noice band, but don't increase loudness.
