Default is the 997s the best all around sports car ever made??

after my recent second drive of a 997s, i was pondering the question...is this the best all around sports car ever made??? the 997s is fast, great handling, great steering feel, great brakes, great high reving engine with a great sound, very comfortable and refined, and great build quality and maaterials quality....its great on the highway and carving up mountian r oads....and equally at home taking it to the city on a saturday night for dinner with a lady friend...its a world class sports car with near supercar performence but the comfort and driving ease of a luxury car.....the only potential fault one could fine with the car is the price, and even that is a bargin compared to some makes....is there another car that has been made that can do all these things as well???

Yes, it is.

Hemingway is reported to have said, "Nothing feels better to a man than a woman's good humor"... I do agree with him on that... though your own personal 997's good humor is a very, very close second.

You're asking the right crowd anyway. I'd have to say yes at the price point. You'd probably get a lot of arguements from others. At the risk of this debate again, the Vette is probably more bang for the buck, but personally doesn't interest me enough to buy one. Now if your around the $200K mark, I think it shifts to say the F430. JMO of course.......

certainly thef 430 is more exciting and faster, but it wont be as dependable or as comfortable as an everyday car

Le Chef...you guys totally got on me for that. I thought it was neat. It doesn't kill the sports car - the exhaust will be just as loud. I do admit I was completely put in my place and humbled, however. Court adjourned.

Its the best car I have ever driven, so for me the best car, no doubt about. I have driven a lot of cars in Europe, far east, middle east, USA, Canada. Sportscars, family cars, etc.

I like a lot of the other cars I owned and have driven, but at this moment in time the 911 is number one on the list and that will stay like that for a while.

Your 996 Turbo can be considered only if some one is COLOR BLIND!
Just yanking your chain a little.

Actually, I "tip my hat" to you for getting exactly what you wanted! Good for you!
