Default Which Would You Rather Own??

Just curious how evryone thinks.

Would you rather have an '05 C4S Coupe (w/PSE) or an '05 Base 997w/PASM?

Thats a tough one, put off buying the 996 4S to see what was going to happen with the 997.
I think I'd get a Boxster and wait for the GT3

Although the sports exhaust IS very impressive.

agreed. also, with awd, the steering feel suffers...and the 997 chassis is a big improvement..much stiffer and better performing...unless you need 4wheel drive for winter driving.....

I'm glad you guys are such hard core 10/10 racers that you actually feel a 150# weight penalty. I'll stick with my C4S 150# overweight fatass car and still lap 90% of you guys.

Are you saying that at track, you don't feel 150 lbs difference?!

Although my car is lighter from the beginning, when I removed ~140 lbs from my car at one point, I could clearly feel the difference.
Also when I some times give a ride to someone at track, I clearly notice the difference of 150-170 lbs person sitting next to me, no question.

As far as lapping... Ah, never mind.

How many tenths of a second or fractions of a mph did that 150# add to your lap times? Seriously guys, unless your class racing and your cars ' dialed in ' down to a gnats asse 150# will make zero difference to you at a DE event. As far as the seat-of-the-pants-o-meter......
I think Finn is the exception to this rule as he is an experienced driver and my comments are directed in a lighthearted way towards the other DE guys.
BTW where is lapland, do they do lapdances there?

To me the C4S is the best looking Porsche available new today, even against the 997. But that's just me.

I love them both...and you will get a sweet discount on the C4S if you grind them...I am obviously biased..but the *** end of the C4S is the nicest of any car...I would agree with the surgeon on the weight issue.

I haven't compared back to back but I'm guessing my lap time at Sebring is probably about 0.5 faster without extra 150 lbs. And it was more, responsive, nimble, to drive. You need to remember though that lot of the weight I removed was from rear which in 911 is THE place to remove the weight.
Even though I believe so, I'm not trying to say C2 in any case & track would be faster than C4 but just to compare a car with or without extra 150 lbs.
I'm sure if given the choice, anyone of us would rather have their car 150 lbs lighter than heavier.

OK, and now to the issue of Lapland!

Check out Porsche's Camp4.

It's one of Porsche's training & motorsport holiday programs that they do in Lapland, northern Finland.

I'm not from there (Lapland), I'm from souther Finland but I've been up there and it is a very unique and cool place in deed!

I haven't done Camp4 but based on what I've read and heard, plus visiting Lapland during winter times I can higly recommend to somene who wants to learn how to slide car around in controlled manner and just visit unique place at the same time.

Besides blasting around snow banks in Porsche, you can ski, eat and ride reindeer, do little ice swimming (did I say it was cool ) etc.
I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you decide to go!
