Hi, does anyone know if only the Porsche child seat would go in the back seat of a 997 ?
Because i m not really convinced by the belt system of the Porsche junior seat.
I hope that somebody will answer me.
Thanks.
You can use ANY child seat in the back seat. The Porsche seats are made by Britax, you can buy Britax brand (or any other brand).
In the 996, using a child seat in the FRONT seat required the Porsche seat because of the airbag deactivation system. The 997 has a new system for using child seats in the front seat (must install airbag deactivation kit), but ANY child seat works in the front seat with the new system.
996 back seats are not wide enough for just about any car seats so I wouldn't think 997 will take any car seat either. Those booster seats are too wide too.
I'd just opt for Porsche seats or do some measurements of your seat bottoms to test fitment.
When I said you can use ANY child seat in the back, I meant you don't need Porsche-specific. Of course some seats fit better than others. I actually have the mid-size Porsche seat (I think this is one generation back, not the current ones), and it is a lousy fit in the back seat. I'm planning on going to a large retailer soon to check out everything and will insist they let me take samples out to my car before I decide.
I bought a Britax booster seat for my 997,it fits with plenty of room to spare. The Britax Comfy cost $89.00.Itried to order a porsche one for $300 plus but my dealer couldn't get it,luckey for me.Britax makes the booster for Porsche, thank you Rennlist member who posted the info about Britax.
