guys...did I make a mistake on my wheel selection?

I have a dumb question. Hypothetically, if I will have stock 19" wheels and decided I did want to go with different 19" aftermarket rims, would the OEM tires automatically fit the new rims? In other words, 19" = 19" and if the rims are made for the 997 the OEM tires would work? Or would I need new tires also?

Hey douche bag...oops I mean rs997 I may be new here but have been deeling with jack a$$es all my life. you may want try to learn how to give an opinion without being insulting. If you don't like sport design wheels fine with me. You don't have to say they suck though. Whatever doesn't really matter to me.
As far as looking in the mirror I'm not sure wich one to look in. Will you be behind me or the side of me?
If your so concerned about the ease of cleaning why the hell did you buy a black car? Sound like your a little confused.

I went with the 19" sport designs because I have the 18" carrera on my boxster S. The S wheel probably is easier to clean but I didn't like it that much. I just bought the 5mm spacers which I'm going to put on the 997 w/ 19" sport design. It definitely handles better with 18's but looks a little weak. 18" looked fine on 996 with the smaller hips IMO.

With aftermarkets you still have to make sure you have the correct wheel widths and offsets for the car, but then yes, you can use the 19" tires that come with the 997.

1080--I agree with what some have said above that wheel choice is all in the eye of the beholder...for example, I think I have seen maybe one application of chrome wheels that didn't make me want to puke and yell "bling bling" at the top of my lungs [again, all my opinion]. In my parking lot at work there are 2 997 Carreras--one is Seal Grey with the 19" Carrera S wheel, the other is Arena Red with the 19" Classic Sport wheel [I think--it is just a straight 5-spoke]. The straight 5 spoke wheel in my opinion is MUCH better looking and goes with the lines of the car a lot better. The "S" wheel is too busy looking in my opinion.
Bottom line--it's YOUR car so who cares what I think? Make yourself happy without resorting to divorce

I've seen "bad" looking wheels before, really bad, and none of the 997 wheels look bad. In fact, I think they all look pretty good. They are so close, I think you are going to have to look at them in person to decide.
