Default "Top Ten" things to do while waiting for your 997 to arrive on Das Boot.

"Top Ten" things to do while waiting for your 997S to arrive on Das Boot:

1: Obsess over whether Carrera S or Carrera Classic or Sport Design was the correct choice of wheels.

2: Worry you have a System Fault / Defective Hood Latch before your baby even hits the assembly line.

3: Worry your baby has RMS before your baby even hits the assembly line.

4: Speculate to no end whether PCM 2 will really read MP3 files from CD in the internal CD reader for the 2006 models.

5: Sit in front of your computer screen and read the last 6 months of posts on Rennlist.

6: Start shopping for after market stuff that you can't afford because you are buying a 997S.

7: Ponder your new insurance rate.

8: Worry about the timeline as to when the new 2006 options will be announced as compared to when the dealer computer will not allow you to change your options for your current build date.

9:

I ran out of stuff.

Waiting for the tow truck is not funny. Just hope you have better luck then I did!! If not always have food and water with you to keep you alive during the wait.

9. Order a really good, custom fit 4-layer NOAH Block It car cover so that the cover is here when the girl arrives.

Took me 6 hours to get from Melbourne to Orlando. FYI at most it's a 60 min drive doing the speed limit. That's not counting the 2.5 hours I waited to for the truck to show up

Yea it was more then a little frustrating. Accornding to PCNA it has been looked at and fixed. They said they were having some problems with a couple of the companies they use in my area. I've not needed Porshce roadside service again so I can't verify that. PCNA was however very responsive when I contacted them to "vent".

Actually, and this is kind of ironic, but I wish my order gets delayed a bit. Just got word yesterday that the estimated completion date on my order is May 9th, meaning it could get here as early as the end of May - YIKES! - or the middle of June. I was all geared up for a July delivery, now I get word that the baby is due a month or two ahead of schedule -- and I haven't even prepared the nursery yet, let alone know which house the baby will live in. You see, we're planning on moving in a couple of months and I was hoping we'd be all settled in the new house by the time the baby arrives. Oh well, so much for trying to plan a delivery!

1080iAddict - do you only use the cover when the car is in your garage or do you also put it on when you park you're car at work?

I only will use it in my garage. I park at work in a parking garage and I always go up to the roof top deck (where the nice cars park!) and then drive back down to just under the overhang for the top deck so there is a 'roof' above me. This protects me if it rains or hails and its in the shade.
