this is not a shot on anyone, and i do love the color but am i the only one who thinks the artic silver is being way over sold? I mean even with BMWs everywhere you look this what you see. be interested to look back in 10 years and find a Red, Midnight Blue , etc. vs the artic silver.

I am tired of Silver cars, so many of them now. Not to say that I don't appreciate seeing a Silver Mercedes here and there, but so many now.
I think Red and Blue will make a comeback.

<I feel the same way about the center console...I have sand beige full leather, and I wish i'd got the center console in leather....The cockpit looks very high quality now, and having the leather center would just finish it off>
Carnewal offers the console in leather for the 996..I'd check with them to see when it is due for the 997

Three Wheelin'
My car is Arctic Silver and honestly it was one of my last choices in color...I really wanted Guards red or Black or Midnight blue, but hey, I looked for a car for 6 months and finally found the right one--when you are buying used you have to put your priorities in line and my highest was to have a car with black interior that runs well without issues and semi-low miles [31K when I bought it, 37,500 now ]
If I were buying a brand new, orderable 997, I think I might to the sample to paint idea mentioned earlier--my buddy at work has a 1993 RUF BTR2 [964 Body Style] in this awesome british racing green color....apparently Alois Ruf himself picked this color, but it looks absolutely stunning on his car--would be fun to have a uniquely colored 997 to set you apart--army green might be fun too

Not to state the obvious but remember when Porsche, Ferrari ,Jaguar etc used to race. Bentley does. Anyway, the dominant colors today parallel the colors assigned to the countries of origin. Silver for Germany, Rosso Corso for Italy , British racing green for GB, Blue for France.
I am not sure if the colors were always official prior to or if the Mille Miglia required colors by country first.
There is also a story about the Mercedes Racing cars in 1933 (?) being silver because they were unfinished/not painted becuase it was lighter. Dunno if it is true or not maybe y'all know.
BTW How is a Coupe ( FHC or otherwise ) Triple Black?? Curious to me,
Basalt Black C4S
Titanium Cayenne S
? Yellow Cayman Clubsport waiter ( deposit in)

Scot: yes, I love the tradition of the old Formula 1 racing colors (that's why my Lotus is green!).
