First of all, thanks for all of the useful info you guys share in this forum. I'm waiting for an end of the month delivery of a 997s (my first Porsche) and like that there is a place I can go to get some great advice if I have any problems.

Given the lack of an AUX input for the stereo, I was wondering if the in-dash CD player plays MP3 files burned onto a CD?

i have however, heard rumours that there is a new version of PCM coming soon that will play mp3 encoded CDs.

many manufactuers are making OEM head units with MP3 capability

05 BMW head units all play mp3s
