Hello, our roads here are not always good. bumps, crack and uneven roads are the norm in the city.
what is pasm? Am I better off with a 911 w/pasm or a 911s without pasm?
Are the 19' prone to crack or dents?
thanks for all opinions

You're better off with PASM. It allows you to recalibrate the suspension's damping - so it can be made harder or softer depending on how you're driving and also the condition of the road.
You can go to the Porsche website and read all about it there.
Don't get confused by all the acronyms:
PASM = Porsche Active Suspension Management helps control suspension damping (Also known as "Podgy A*s Soothing Massager")
PSM = Porsche Stability Management which helps control the car should it begin to understeer or oversteer too much. (Also known as "Please Save Me!")

Hi Le Chef,
Thanks for the reply. As I understand it, turning on PASM sports, makes it more rigid. But is the ride level the same on a car without pasm, a pasm that is set to normal or non sports?
And if I do get the 911s, is it better to switch it to 18" wheels? I think 19" wheels don't add very much to the performance, handling or comfort the car. It just makes it look "better" to some people.
Do 18" wheels make up for a 911s without pasm, and will it handle better?
Thanks

PASM doesn not change ride height. It stays the same regardless, though it's -10mm below the standard suspension. PASM has been tuned to work with 19" wheels so changing them for 18" may not improve anything, and won't even save you money.
You might want to think about a standard 997 which does not have PASM as standard and comes with 18" as standard. You could then fit aftermarket suspension if you wanted to, something that's very difficult to do as yet with PASM.

I have a choice between a 997s without pasm and a 997 with pasm.
would the ride be harsh on 19" inch wheels without pasm? Roads here are uneven, cracks and bumps in the city. Highways are good enough.
would the ride be better if I replaced the 19" with regular 18" or should I just go with a 997 with pasm?
thanks
