Seems to be fixed after replacement of hood-latch and solenoid -- keeping fingers crossed.

well thank goodness i felt like i was being left out i finally got my first sytem fault because i had the nerve to wash my car! i washed it Sunday and pulled it out of the garage on monday afternoon i noticed the tail lights were on. when i pulled it back into the garage the infomus light came on asking me to return to workshop! doesn't Porshce know we enjoy washing and waxing our cars??? i guess we should set up appoint with the dealer then wash our car so we can reset the system after our wash.

Exclamation System Fault Update

Mentioned in another post that there is a "port hold" for all 997/997S arriving in Baltimore. Dealer advises that P-techs are swapping out ECU's to correct the hood latch problem. Maybe this is fix we have been waiting for. My cab is one of the "held" cars.

This is certainly good news for the rest of us waiters. This means that Porsche has fixed the problem with this upgrade and all new cars coming off the line won't encounter this dreaded "System Fault" warning. Alright! Another bug bites the dust!

Since this month is apparently the last production month for '05, hopefully all the bugs that surfaced during the first production year will have been exterminated by the time they build mine (sometime next week). So I guess being a waiter for such a long time does have its benefits. Certainly the tips, though helpful, are nothing to write home about.
