Default NAV Install Finished

What started out as a 3 hour plug and play install turned into a two week scramble for parts to complete the NAV install. For those of you contemplating this upgrade I encourage you to do it, the NAV is a great option that works extremely well. I had mine installed by Brandywine Porsche which is where I purchased the car, and they did it for $2070 (same as factory price). It was their first install in a 997 and I doubt the price will remain the same. They did an excellent job and I would recommend them. Here is a list of parts they used.

997-642-135-05 NAV Module
997-642-105-05 GPS Antenna
997-642-231-00 Nav Module Holder
997-622-707-50 Optical Fiber
N-103-358-01 Socket Contact
999-650-137-22 Pin
997-612-331-00 Cable Loom Module
4 Wire 16 Ga Wire
Electrical Connectors
N-103-358-01 Socket Contact
997-645--01 U Clamp, CD Changer (4)
3 Hours to do wiring
1.20 Hours to Install NAV

And last but not least you would think the NAV DVD comes with all of the above stuff, but it does not, I had to get my salesman to order that for me.

Also while the car was in the shop I had the 3M Expel clear bra installed. That too is a great product and they did an excellent job installing it. From 5 feet away you cannot even see it, up close you can see the line across the hood, but who cares. They covered the mirrors, hood, front bumber, headlights, everything for $476 (got 20% discount because I bought car there)

All in all I would highly recommend both of the above installations to anyone and I would recommend Brandywine Porsche if you are in the area.

Sounds great George, how about a couple pictures! Also, do you have the part # for the NAV DVD, would be nice to put that list away for when I go to get mine installed!

Thanks!

Did you get a manual for the Nav?

Nav instructions are contained in the PCM manual

There is a separate manual for the NAV, but it came with the other manuals when I purchased the car.
