Warning! Don't leave your rear seats folded...
I put my seats down last week and raised them yesterday and the leather on the seat backs are wrinkled now, right where it hits the drive tunnel! Damn! I put them down for no other reason than to have a clear shot of the Bose subwoofer holes. Come to find out that they don't even put out any bass, all the bass comes from the front speakers! Double damn!

Sorry to hear about your seats, but the subwoofer does put out sound. You hear the sound from the front speakers because it is a well tuned system. The beauty of subs is that the sound does not seem to come from the speakers and allows for a proper sound stage even if placed in the back. tweeters and midranges are much more directional and can move the sound stage if improperly placed.

No problem w/ my back seats back being down on my 996 C4 (full leather car). I lower those backs all the time to provide for an excellent loading platform.

Reminds me of a Ford problem. Ford has cut so many corners and gotten so cheap in ways most people don't notice, that a reasonably heavy object left on the center arm rest PERMAMENTLY dents it. Like it's made from styrofoam.
