Yikes "pole position", take it easy. It's not that we we achieve starvation but that we could achieve it. Porsche itself attempted to address the "problem" in 2002 when it went from the 3.4 to the 3.6 and "upgraded the "wet sump system". The best evidence, admittedly not conclusive, might be the demand, prices, and durability of 993's in comparison to 996's. This from an owner of two 993's, a 996 (gone) and a 997.

The exchange rate will definitely boost the prices on all foreigh cars from Europe as the dollar continues to take a beating....manufacturers have to adjust their prices accordingly and US dealers whose dollar isn't going as far with their purchases.....I import haircolor from Germany and I have had to increase prices twice now due to higher Cost of Goods to cover my margins and dealers margins....

If WW wants to raise the price and cut supply to maintain exclusivity, ala Ferrari, then put a decent f*cken engine in the car!
I have seen my oil pressure drop from 5 bar to 3 bar and back up to 5 running street tires at TWS (turn 1 clockwise configuration) at 5000 rpm. The same thing occurs with my R compounds and this is a long right hander, not the left handers where the problem reportedly occurs (according to PMNA). That's conclusive enough evidience for me. That and the fact that PMNA sells an oiling upgrade for the 996.

why is it that all these magazine tests where these P-cars are tracked for articles, or in head to head "shootouts" against other cars - none of the magazines ever mention that the oil pressure drops during the test? I am not saying this proves anything, I was just wondering.

its simply an observation they make while driving the car. low oil pressure is certainly something to note.
