Speaking of, I just ordered Lloyds mats for my 993 and they are very very nice. You can get any Porsche logo embroidered on them in a multitude of colors for about the same price as the factory ones. And they are licensed to use the logos so they look very real.

Not sure about you guys in the US but here in the UK we have to pay extra (£225) for the rear screen wiper. Oh, and the floor mats aswell (£100).

Floormats is the number one and the wheel crests number two. I don't get it, that they like to make $149 on those items, while it is only one procent of the total profit they make on the car.

I do agree that some of the options are too expensive (like electric seats, leather), but I don't agree that they should be standard as stated by some. The real diving maniac will not allow electric seats, sunroof, etc in his/her car, as it adds weight. Having said that, I realize that I'm not one of those maniacs :-))

Where did you get the console? I'm thinking about getting it painted by bumperplugs.com cause it looks cheap stock. Should have ordered the matching leather cover for it. Next time!

My car came with leather sun visor $700. I'm not sure they are leather, but who cares! My friend at the local dealer order a customer the leather hook on the back of the seat. I believe that was ~$175.

Ha ha.. I thought I was the only few that really fed up with Porsche mark up and dealer rip-off.

Well I lost my 996 gas cap (don't ask how I lost it), I was frustrated and pick up one at Kragen for $10 bucks. Didn't feel quite good since I wanted everything to be marked with the P word? You know what. It works like a charm since. Get real, who is looking at your gas cap.

Any one want to talk about dealer rip-off also What about $1500 for dealer to clean up my stereo wires and actually cut the rest of the wires (radar detector for example) and $2000 to fix my A/C but actually totally ruined it while the actual problem was just a missing temp sensor.

I've got a good one that still irks me. I like to be precise with torque specs. and the correct tools, etc. before I work on my cars, so I always buy the best official manual available. For my last car it was a three volume Helm manual set with each volume pushing a thousand pages each and it cost $105.

Porsche, through the "Technical Documents" link on the "Accessories" page charges $110 for a PDF download for EACH SECTION of the manual AND, it gets worse... the detail is pure crap! No "Tools Required" listing, the visual references are childish, AND even after you PAY $110 Porsche has set a document restriction that will only give you access to print at the lowest quality level.

Last time I checked, "footwell lighting" (a dimestore light by your feet) was something like $700.

One of the best options on the 986/996 was "active carbon" pollen filtration. They substituted a $30 carbon-element filter and charged around $300.
