The problem (or the waste) of doing so is that even the most anally-retentive enthusiasts I have met don't actually refer to their car as Steve or Frank or whatever in conversation for example, it is actually only a name in their heads....so its a waste of time and possibly a sign that someone is (becoming) insane. I don't name my car but I know that I am Lucifer inside my own head...I am invincible...hoohahhahhahahahahahahahhh.......doh! Leave names for something that is expected to answer....like a person or a pet. Or be incarcerated eventually.
just what i was thinking.

Funny naming story still makes me laugh twenty-five years later. A guy I once knew, very successful, asks his trophy wife to help him decide which car we should take to dinner, "Honey, should we take the BM?" (for BMW.)

Maybe call your Porsche the "Po"

Hey, sounds like Ho!! good night zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Default Name?

This has to be one of the most ridiculous topics ever brought into this discussion group. It's a freaking Porsche 911, code No. 997. End of story. Hey, JCF7, save this cr-- for one of your morning coffee clatches.

How 'bout Salma, as in Hayek, as in someone with a great ***? I'm not sure the mrs. will quite appreciate overhearing you say, "When I'm in Salma, it's always the best ride of my life." Yeah, that'll go over well.
