We receive our new vehicles usually between 5-15 miles. After our PDI(pre-delivery inspection) they typically have about 15 additional miles that we(technicians) put on them during the roadtest. This may differ dealer to dealer because of the normal "test route" we take. Occasionally we'll get one with a wheel balance problem or an alignment out of spec which will require another test drive after the repair is completed. The odometers are never re-set back to 0, and honestly I dont even know if dealerships are capable of doing this..
Feel confident that the odo reading is completely true.

14 miles

Not terribly important, but someone at the dealer mentioned that the factory is using a test track closer to the 997's final assembly point than they used to for prior 911 models (allegedly 911's used to show 35-40 miles on odometer pretty much as a rule)...anyone able to confirm?

4 when I first sat in it. 16 when I picked it up two days later. It was still in it's wrapper.

The factory "randomly" takes new cars for extended test drives. So some will have extra miles on it from the factory. Perfectly normal.

8.4 miles. I meant to post this on this thread (kinda like a guest book entry) but I forgot about it after the thread went off the radar screen.

Off the truck, wrapped in plastic---3.0 miles.

Delivered on showroom floor---4.5 miles.

Just wish that it came "broken-in" as I am up to only 420 miles now after 2.5 weeks.
