I just had to chime in about the BMW shot with the sexy chick and the hag in funky glasses. That's great. Use to kind of like BMWs, but man they are ugly now. Offered to buy my wife a 645 convertible, but she said it was ugly. Pretty bad when a woman won't drive an $ 85k sports car because of the way it looks.

I was at a focus group that compared the new Corvette with the Chrysler Crossfire and various German cars, and the Corvette had the WORST interior of the bunch. As for Corvette's exterior design, I don't like it, but I could see why some might. As for Corvette's performance, I can't comment as I've never driven the current model (but I have driven a C5 and I didn't like it).

I was so in love I never realized how much plastic there was until that picture. Looks like Cher. Six months in a leather 997 C2S has upped the bar just a weeeee bit.
On the bright side, it all comes out rather easily... say, ah, if you're wiring a hidden police scanner, radar detector, and replacing the steering column lock module that broke in the "LOCKED" position. Ahhhh, those were the good ol' days....

Yet another Vette vs 911 post... man... why do we get into this?
Vettes STINK. There, I said it. Never driven one, never will. Straight line acceleration is less than 10% of the whole driving equation.
If you like Vettes and I offended you, GOOD. Maybe you will stop posting "Vetts vs 911s" posts on a forum that is OBVIOUSLY Porsche-biased. Go bash us to any Vette forum, I am sure you will be happy there.

Unless you have driven a 2006 Corvette Z06, your opinion that it "stinks" is not valid.

"People are always asking me which of my cars are my favorites. I usually give 'em a flip answer like, "Which of your childrenare your favorites?" But seriously, like everybody in the old-car hobby, I do have cars I like better than any others. My list will probably differ from other people's but that's what makes this fun. Here we go. First on my list is the Duesenberg SJ. To me, it's probably the greatest American car, and it's certainly one of the greatest cars of all time. It's one of the few cars that I think people will still be restoring hundreds of years from now, because nothing in it is biodegradable. The steel, the block, everything is of such weight, depth and thickness that it's constantly rebuildable. You could pull a Duesenberg chassis out of a swamp it had been in since 1925, just kinda clean it up a bit, and it would be as strong as it was when it left the factory. That's in contrast to new cars like, for example, BMWs, where 80 percent of the car is recyclable. Obviously, you have to have that these days. I don't know what the restorer in the year 2050 is going to do with cars of today, but he'll still be able to restore a Duesenberg. It's also one of the greatest classic cars, to me, because you can drive it like a modern car even though it's 65 years old or more. You can comfortably go 70 to 80 mph on the freeway. At a time when the speed limit was 45, a Duesenberg could go 120. It's sooooo strong. You're not constantly having to say, "Oh, sorry, go around me," to all the beep-beeps from behind you, as so often happens with some old cars."

The Cadillac V-16. Here is a 1930 Cadillac 452 Convertible Coupe with coachwork by Rollston.
Information on the Cadillac V-16
http://www.car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/V16_ndx.htm
The most exotic Cadillac V-16 ever built
http://www.car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/16hrtm.htm
It is a 1937 Cadillac V-16, body by Hartmann.
from http://www.blackhawkauto.org/collectf.html
Cadillac released only two V-16 chassis to independent coachbuilders in 1937. One was sold to Philippe Barraud, a wealthy young playboy living along the fashionable Swiss Riviera, which stretched between Lausanne and Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Barraud commissioned ***** Hartmann, a body shop owner in Lausanne, “to create a look similar to a Figoni et Falaschi-designed car” on this huge chassis.
Basic stock Cadillac components were used on this streamlined hand-formed fantasy, which is one of the largest cabriolets ever built. Initially there was some doubt whether it could be registered in Switzerland as a private car due to the 22-foot overall length.
Barraud drove his car to all the fashionable haunts where it caused a sensation — as it continues to do today.

I do not care if it is good or not, it still stinks. I would never ever consider buying one. Specially NOT if I can afford a Porsche.
Thomas, what exactly are you trying to prove here? If you like the C6 so much, buy one. Join a Vette-owners forum/club and have a happy life. For all I know, maybe you already own one. Good for you, you have a "great value". We all know that "great value" is what sports car are all about.
