Default 997 Delete Sunroof Option?

Stopped by 2 dealerships in the SF Bay Area this weekend, was told that there is no "delete sunroof" option for the 997. Meanwhile, the order guide says it's right there... item 652. What gives? I'm 6'5 with a big head (even bigger with a helmet) and need all the room I can get.

I have an order guide that Vikken sent to me and there is no item 652. In any event, I know that when some people deleted the sunroof when ordering the 996, some dealers insisted on a $5,000 deposit as protection against being stuck with a car that was less saleable if the customer cancelled the order.

Hell, $5,000 deposit is what this dealership is asking for to place an order before I even start picking my options! I wonder what they would ask for if I wanted to delete the sunroof?

try ordering a car with purple outisde and green inside. that usually creates a situation that requires a 5 figure non-refundable deposit

Sunroof delete will not be an option for the US 997, so says PCNA

So odd since in the ROW it is an option
Go figure

Find a new dealer. I've ordered three new Porsches since 1998, including a 997S Cab and have never had to deposit more than $1,000.

In Europe the sunroof is an option, so not standard. Maybe you can consider European delivery.
